Working with the community to transform their garden

8th Jul 2019

Greenfingers are committed to working with the community to improve outdoor spaces for all. The team have recently completed a number of CSR projects for Great Places Housing Group, including helping to develop the gardens at Tulloch Court, Blackpool where the residents are disabled and enjoy being outside.

Working with Great Places, Greenfingers gave the grounds an overhaul by tidying up the gardens, digging up and deposing of the weeds and planting new flower beds to brighten up the place. The team were onsite for most of the day and Bob Priestley, a local resident sung their praises. “The Greenfingers team worked really well and accomplished a great deal in miserable conditions.”

Greenfingers do more than just maintain the grounds on this site, they have taken the time to teach the staff and residents how to care for the gardens, getting the whole community involved. Bob, alongside the other residents enjoy working within the gardens, “there are 9 of us regularly working in the garden now, and we’re all finding it very therapeutic.” This project has really sparked a passion within the residents and their scheme manager has decided to enter the garden into Britain in Bloom this year.

Here at Greenfingers, we find undertaking work like this rewarding, turning green spaces into an area that is being enjoyed and utilised to its full potential. We look forward to continuing to work with the residents on this site and wish them the best of luck with the Britain in Bloom judging.
