Residents’ engagement day, see Greenfingers help transform a neglected space.

21st Apr 2022

We really enjoy getting involved with residents’ engagement days and helping communities to transform a space and our recent project was no exception. Our team recently attended a resident engagement day at an estate we have previously worked our wonders on in Sheffield.

We were there to improve a few areas on the estate such as planters, benches, slate and bark sections, and plant flowers and shrubs for the residents to enjoy.

We have also recently carried out some much-needed landscaping to the site, which had unfortunately been neglected for a couple of years due to COVID and budget cuts.

Whilst there, we provided all the materials to help the residents, including soil, bark, shrubs and hand tools, and all-important manpower. We also removed all the waste generated from the event day.

In future, we will be carrying out the majority of the improvements as part of the grounds maintenance to the scheme. However, the residents will also be joining in the landscaping fun by tending to a few raised planters where they are planting herbs.

Alison Potapi (Clarion Neighbourhood Response Manager) said: “It was a great day with the sun shining, the improvements we’ve made have made a big difference around the communal areas in Laird Drive, and the residents in the scheme really appreciate the efforts that Greenfingers have made.”

The difference that the recent landscaping works carried out by our team and the community’s work on the day has made to the scheme is outstanding. It was fantastic to see the reaction from the residents on the day and to put smiles on their faces.

The changes have made the areas more pleasing to the eye while also making them easier to maintain going forward, which is a win for all parties.
