Cae Glas Park is set to bloom

3rd Jun 2020

Cae Glas Park in Oswestry is a park we have maintained for several years. It’s the hub of the community, giving local residents a place to explore and spend time outdoors with friends and family. One of the main attractions within this park is its bedding displays, contributing to Oswestry achieving Gold Britain in Bloom awards as well as Greenfingers winning a prestigious BALI award, it really is the jewel in our crown.

Each year, we design, grow and install our award-winning bedding scheme. Plants are grown off-site and delivered to us for planting and this year was no different. Alongside our Greenfingers team, we were pleased to welcome a small number of volunteers to help us plant the installation. Keeping the required 2m apart and in the glorious sunshine, we were able to complete the installation over 5 days planting around 10,000 plants.

Oswestry Town Council’s Operations Manager, Simon Cranmer, offered thanks to the volunteers, saying: “We are really grateful to all the residents who came out to Cae Glas today to help with this important annual task. In these testing times, a beautiful display of flowers in a much-loved park is a reminder that there is continuity and a light at the end of the tunnel.”

We are looking forward to seeing the beds bloom over the summer and be enjoyed by the residents of Oswestry.
