Working with the community

8th Aug 2017

Greenfingers are committed to working with the community to improve outdoor spaces for all. We have recently completed a number of CSR projects where we transformed the outdoor spaces of two schools and created a shared allotment for a local community in Derby. We find undertaking work like this rewarding, especially when it is being enjoyed and utilised to its full potential.

Some of the groups we worked with share their thoughts on our recent projects:

“A key aspect of our schools sucess is the focus on providing outstanding learning environment both internally and externally and in respect of this, we are extremely proud of our partnership with Greenfingers over the past 10 years. Greenfingers maintain the grounds at Kingfisher Special School free of charge, as a donation to the local community.” Kingfisher School

“Greenfingers was fundamental in assisting Derwent Living in gaining funding for the improvement works and provided significant “free” labour to establish the site. Greenfingers also provide ongoing support to the allotment community by providing training events and advice in looking after the plots and providing free maintenance support to the site.” Derwent Living Housing

” Creation of our magic garden has resulted in positive benefits for all our pupils especially those with more complex needs. Children that have used the garden have shown a noticable difference in their behaviour when returning to the classroom. The calming environment enhances their learning experiences and this will only improve further as the garden continues to develop and bloom.” Lark Hill School
